Pros

Sometimes you get to work on fun projects and meet great people. It is a fast paced environment where you will quickly learn new skills and more about the industry altogether.

Cons

They market themselves to sound like a fun agency and work “family” but things can quickly get pretty messy and boundaries are will be crossed. Biases and nepotism are not uncommon here and most of all, personal affairs and emotions have frequently been brought into the office. The CEO has or has had a romantic relationship with an employee which definitely fed into the nepotism and office drama at one point. There is a high chance you may be reprimanded and disciplined for being even 1-5 minutes late to work, even if you are on salary. And if you go home right on the dot, like a healthy work-life balance should allow, you are not considered to be a good employee. The way they run their business feels just like high school and not the most uplifting environment coming from upper management. Instead it can feel cliquey and like you’ll occasionally have to walk on eggshells. They will sometimes test their employees to determine their worth to the team. Micromanaging is also extremely prevalent in this office. There are security cameras all around, and they will offen watch to see what’s going on at your desk or what tabs you might have open. It was actually disheartening to see the lack of trust they have in their employees. Lastly there is no HR department, which speaks for itself.

Pros

This company has been a launchpad for my future, and I am grateful for the valuable experience that I gained during my time there. Artisans On Fire is a fast-paced work environment, which is precisely what I was looking for. During my interview I was told that a year at Artisans feels like 5, and this was true. The company pushed me towards being the best version of myself, which helped me grow both personally and professionally. I learned more within a year than I had 3 years prior. One of the best things about working at Artisans On Fire was the team. Each team member played a vital role in every project, and each member was incredibly talented. I was able to take a piece of everyone, which helped me grow as a person both in and out of work. I am still in touch with most colleagues, and I am thankful for the friendships that I made while working there. (Special note to the upper management. Lupo, Moni, Grace- tysm) I would also like to express my appreciation for the CEO, Dustin Iannotti. He gave me a lot of freedom and helped me learn a lot about myself. He recognized my strengths and helped me elevate my weaknesses. Even though I have moved on from the company, I continue to receive guidance and support from Dustin, which is a testament to his commitment to the personal and professional development of his team members. Overall, I have nothing but love for Artisans On Fire. This company provided me with a creative environment to thrive in, and I am genuinely thankful for the experience. I would highly recommend Artisans On Fire to anyone who is looking for a fast-paced and creative work environment where they can learn and grow. This place is a true launchpad to success.

Cons

As I reflect on my time at Artisans On Fire, I must acknowledge that while the company itself is exceptional, there were instances where certain employees were not well-suited for their roles. This led to a disproportionate amount of workload for upper management, who had to pull additional weight to compensate for the lack of effort from these employees. Given Artisans' fast-paced and dynamic work environment, employees are expected to be fully engaged and committed to their roles. While hard work is rewarded, a lack of passion and dedication can impede growth and progress both for the individual employee and the company as a whole. In essence, my "Con" about Artisans is not so much about the company itself, but rather the importance of being a strong team member that is fully aligned with the company's mission and vision. Be passionate and work hard👍

Pros

AoF is such a fun place to work because of the amount of creativity that flows through every single individual working here. Everyone is nice, welcoming, respectful, and professional, which makes working here great. Management really believes in providing autonomy as you prove yourself in your work. Most companies don't follow through on that, but AoF definitely does. It's so nice to work somewhere where I can express myself, provide feedback, ask for help, and actually get listened to. The merch is designed in-house by the creative team so rocking it feels good, especially with how chill and well-dressed the team is. If you're looking to be told what to do, work in a hand-held environment, and aren't looking to grow or be challenged, this is not the place for you. If you're looking to show your creativity, show initiative as a leader, be challendged and grow as a professional and creative, then this is the place for you.

Cons

The only downside of working at AoF would be the learning curve in learning about the Grey Area Markets. It might feel frustrating, but it's just a learning curve as you start getting adjusted. After a while, you start learning very quickly, and everyone is easy to talk to and learn from.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I am happy to hear you have fun here. I truly feel lucky we get to create art that drives results for our clients. Personally, I think it's one of the best gigs in the world. Happy to hear you thrive under autonomy at Artisans as well. I've always believed in providing trust first and seeing where it takes someone, and I'm even happier to hear you feel heard. We're stronger with happy employees and this is not taken lightly. Regarding the learning curve around the grey market clients in cannabis, online gambling, etc. it definitely takes some getting used to for all marketers that haven't experienced that before. If you have any suggestions on how to make that process smoother for our future Artisans, don't hesitate to slip a note under my door or just come see me and I'd be happy to discuss.
