It can get crazy stressful for the unfortunate who get the wrong accounts. Making $47k to run a $12 million account is just awful. You get a laptop, under the guise that you will only use it if needed is such a ruse. As innocuous as it begins, it will just become more work, for the same pay, and forget about bonuses, even if you are a top performer. Also, do not talk to HR. They are entirely in the pocket of management. There really is no such thing as "confidential input" there. As helpful as you want to be, you will almost certainly become dissatisfied, and end up looking elsewhere for employment.
