Pros
I worked here for a time as an Advocacy Intern and then as a Government Affairs Fellow during my time at University. It was a well coordinated operation considering it was primarily run by college students. The best part of it was all the experiences, I got to work across the state at many fun events. The best experience was lobbying state legislators for higher education students. Definitely a lot of opportunities to learn a lot of different skills.
Cons
Personally I felt under utilized at times especially as an intern. There were many interns and most of the work was done by the directors except for the majority of the grunt work. Also, there was no pay and no benefits, I do know that the directors were paid, but only a stipend. Thats what you get for working at a non-profit.
