Pros
Staff in the control room are pretty friendly and open; always willing to help and answer questions.
Cons
Lack of a clear training team or program, it appears that management just wing it with a single day talking at you and then letting you deal with it on your own on the second day. No process or system guides and a distinct lack of drive to change and adapt; indeed management seem happy to just let things coast and continually suffer from staff retention issues (3x left between December and February, all new starters..).
Poor working conditions, being in a control room all day in a hot stuffy environment with no windows is not an ideal working condition. The air condition was either far too cold or too hot with no middle ground.
Low morale, during my first week I was party to conversations with staff complaining about management and the lack of desire to change or acknowledge complaints about the role. I heard them complain about staff leaving, lack of new work and low salary (£8.50 per hour is sub-par).
Upon handing my notice in after securing a far more welcoming and progressive job with a large multi-national firm I attempted to get a reference from Arc, I'd have had more luck turning water into wine! They continually ignored emails and phone calls and to my knowledge have still failed to provide one. Highly unprofessional and irresponsible. I would highly avoid working here, people can do far better.
