Pros
A no-management structure is only sustainable when you hire really great people that are intrinsically motivated by the technologies being conquered and do not need to be told what to do, they just do it. They have done an amazing job of finding the employees that not only thrive in this environment, they make it easy for others to be successful as well. There is a lot of freedom - you most often get to choose which projects you work on and have the chance to work with a large variety of team members. There is also a tremendous amount of transparency and trust. They have flexible work hours, which is great if you have special needs, don't live locally or hate alarm clocks. Most people arrive by lunch around noon and stay until around 7 or 8pm, although there are 9-5ers with families as well. After dinner, there is typically a bit of gaming on the large projector and there are gymnastics rings to stretch / get a quick workout in. Apportable has their own chef and a brand new industrial kitchen so your dietary restrictions don't keep you from eating office food. It's usually healthy and delicious, which is pretty difficult to accomplish. If you want to see cool things they do in the office, they have an instagram @apportablejobs
Cons
The founders are very approachable, but if you want something, you must approach them. The company is catered towards engineers, because the product is engineering specific. It is often difficult to coordinate non engineering things, like marketing initiatives, for example. I think 31 out of 40 employees are developers. So if you're an engineer, or speak their language, you will do very well here.
