Pros

Bringing new technology to the insurance industry is at the heart of our mission at Applied. We have seen amazing growth within the past 5 years with many more products and a stronger focus on developing the best product portfolio to enable customer success. As we have expanded our global footprint, it's been exciting to work with great people across Canada, the US, the UK, and Ireland who all have a passion around innovating the insurance industry. I am continually challenged on a daily basis to think not only about my customers in my locale, but to also consider those with similar business challenges in other countries. Everyone brings a different perspective to work everyday, and this helps me grow in my own professional career, taking into consideration those different perspectives. As Applied has added new companies to the family, it is clear that those companies have also been the very best at what they do, and collectively we are a much stronger company together.

Cons

With continual growth, it doesn't take long to find gaps in processes or coverage for new and complex situations. This will often force us to improve upon our current way of doing things, and to take on new and more reliable processes. What worked yesterday may not work tomorrow, so the continuing growth within in company, across the customer base, and into new markets leads us to a better way of serving our customers!

Pros

The teammates that I worked with were generally really great. Decent opportunity for learning

Cons

The benefits were not great, 3 year vesting to get a 401k match, insurance was sub par, time off was below average. In addition to this the management team is having a lot of turnover along with getting rid of people systematically (or what feels targeted). This is following some acquisitions that could have been great but because the teams are all operating in silos with what feels like no cohesive direction from the senior leadership. The products that are being sold are very old feeling/looking with no real changes on the horizon. Pair this with high level executive leadership changes that are pointing to a potential sale of the company which likely will come with more changes and loss of employment.
