I work on the petrol forecourt -I have had absolutely no training on the till systems whatsoever. This means that you are constantly making mistakes and the customers get angry with you. If there are any discrepancies, my manager has stated it will come out of my pay. There is no blue roll to clean up with, no gloves to wear and I have used the same dirty mop to mop the shop floor with, the floor is never clean. People regularly defecate all over the customer toilets (which are blocked) and you are expected to clean them. The fridges don't work properly so there are puddles of water all over the shop. This is a health and safety issue but no one has addressed it. Someone has placed cardboard over the puddles and this turns into sludge. Staff come and go, they are disposed of at will - my current manager is constantly accusing everyone of theft via the WhatsApp group. Despite the lack of training you are barked at when things go wrong. The payment state is so slow that the customers are sometimes stood there for ages waiting for a payment to clear, otherwise they drive off with a full tank thinking that the payment has not gone through. My manager is constantly offhand, favours certain people for shifts and watches the camera footage looking for stuff to scream about. This has been one of the worst experiences of my working life.
