Pros

It’s hard to find pros. Product is good and references are good. People work hard and are smart. Free coffee at corporate

Cons

Not a place for a seasoned accomplished sales person. Sales management is nuts. Sales leaders yell, demean, dictate and treat sales people like admins. The place is crazy. Only people who do well are those that have been there for 14 years. There’s no respect for incoming sales people. Basically you’re treated like you’re stupid. Sales EVPs VPs aren’t very seasoned but they think they are masters of the universe. Horrible work environment for sales. Appian somehow erases postings. Negative postings I’ve read in the past are gone and only positive posts are left. Weird. Also presales staff is very iffy. Tough to find presales person who can do a good job

Thank you for the praise on our teams, product and references. Our customers are foundational to Appian’s success and our people are the best in the business. It’s unfortunate to hear you’ve had a negative experience at Appian. The sales leadership team at Appian (including myself) recognizes the value that experienced account executives bring, and we actively elicit their feedback to ensure our sales team scales effectively and maintains the fast paced and rewarding culture we currently have. I also need to address your comment regarding missing posts. Glassdoor doesn’t give that ability to any customer nor would we ask them to as we value the feedback channel it creates to employers. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

I loved my co-workers. Everyone was super helpful and a lot of people were friendly. I enjoyed hanging out with them during lunch hour. People thought very highly of the management. I had a boss that really cared about me personally and was fair but kind. The company also valued personal development and gave time to learn new skills and build side projects for the company.

Cons

I did not find it meaningful to work on software that was helping big corporations.

Pros

Cool office & perks, unlimited PTO.

Cons

My manager ultimately stabbed me in the back. Being a recruiter here is a trap. No one has your back, your are just an order taker and every stakeholder has unrealistic and unfair expectations. The founders have their hand in the entire recruiting process and it makes it so unbelievably hard. They want top talent but have not top talent pay. They are not flexible on RTO so good luck.

Providing a supportive environment where expectations are clear and fair is something we hold ourselves accountable to every day. While our commitment to an in-person workplace is rooted in building strong collaboration and connection across our teams, we are equally focused on ensuring our leaders have the tools and training necessary to support every department. We appreciate you taking the time to help us look for ways to improve.
