Pros

Chris is awesome, but he only hires people he knows and of course thats a benefit to those who know him. Environment seems like a nice place to work.

Cons

Dont be part of HR or Finance. The finance person is rude. The HR person comes out nice ,but working with her you realize she is a hypocrite. Avoid those people.

Thanks! Hmmm, although we have grown both our HR and Finance teams since this post, I am surprised to hear you had a bad experience with the Apogee backoffice. They are awesome too! Apogee has a very transparent performance management process and a forum based management structure where we strive to let all voices be included and heard. If you have an example of different treatment and especially belittling, I would like to fix that. Thanks, Chris

Pros

I was there full-time as a software developer and I like the culture as well as the career opportunities. The senior management was very supportive of furthering my career for certificates and education. The culture is great too, especially with annual company parties, as well as the inclusive culture.

Cons

They do prefer to hire through referrals, but I understand why they do so. It's a smaller contracting company so there's more risk for hiring the wrong person.

Apogee does have a vibrant employee referral program and referrals are a great way to hire stellar (cleared) employees but not the only way. Apogee has a 3-person recruiting team that works hard to vet and filter through 1000's of potential employees that apply or are sourced.
