Pros

Friendly colleagues, flexible working patterns

Cons

Very poorly run, change of projects often made with staff moved about. Meetings held to declare company profits then not long later huge company redundancy. Staff that had been there longer let go in redundancies due to scoring on a skills matrix, however they weren’t given an opportunity to acquire other skills when stuck on one project. Scientists taking the shine for work done by technical assistants. No overtime pay, yet expected to stay when lab work ran over. Also blamed for poor organisation if lab work did run over. Company culture seen on LinkedIn and shown when you first start is a bit of a myth. “Pint of science” on a Friday never really happened. Terrible pay, especially for junior technical assistants when they do the same work as a TA or scientist. Promotions made based on who you know. If you’re friends with the program lead you’ll be sure to land yourself 3 promotions in 3 years. Roles made redundant a year ago now being re-advertised, despite workers being told more cuts were going to be made and operations seized.

Pros

- Friendly staff, truly wonderful people to work with - £50 per month wellness allowance for things like gym/sports memberships

Cons

- Redundancies - Awful pay for the work we do -Very poorly run, change of projects often made with staff moved about. - No development for JTA's (you'll get stuck on 1 project) - Retrospective meetings to see what they can "learn" going forward but NOTHING done. - No overtime pay, yet expected to stay when lab work ran over. Also blamed for poor organisation if lab work did run over. - Unless you push for opportunities you want you will not receive them - must "protect the company" from senior management when concerns raised

Cons

- Sometimes felt like I was given too many responsibilities - Redundancies - Poor pay
