Pros
- Great people, good honest work - Plenty of room for technical growth - No pressure to be ultra-billable (no double-booking) - Personal plus: no bonus tied to utilization (maybe con for others) - Approach to sales is a huge breath of fresh air compared to other similar firms - No complaints about compensation nor benefits - Sensible stock option plan - Remote work / WFH always an option - Relatively diverse workforce (for our industry) with people from all over the world - From my experience at least, management really, truly cares about you - Company is making a genuine effort to be better in the softer and more human ways than the competition I feel like I should write more here but I'm not sure what to say without just gushing. For me, personally, I feel like I hit the jackpot. Most of the team came from other security consulting firms and and are trying not to make all the mistakes they saw there. I would highly recommend this firm for any intermediate level or above security consultant/engineer with decent code review ability who can make the cut.
Cons
- Normal for tech/security but culture is pretty male-dominated. - Common negatives for most security consulting firms apply, but are mitigated (timeboxed gigs, etc.) - Majority of company is remote - Related to the above most people are pretty reserved/shy, but really nice friendly people once you eventually get a chance to interact with them. - At present less support for more junior hires - A large portion of the work is very same-y. Some people have to do a lot of that specific type of work but others are pretty insulated from it, depending on skillset. - Social good projects are kinda floundering at the moment. Unfortunately at present this firm is probably not the best place to get started in the security industry. If you're more junior you'd probably benefit more from places that you'll work more closely with your team (and is willing to hire and develop promising junior talent). If you already have adjacent experience (eg. software engineering) this probably doesn't apply to you.
