Pros

Remote work it the only good thing to be said.

Cons

While I acknowledge the challenges of remote work, there is a noticeable absence of initiatives within this company to address the potential feelings of isolation and loneliness. The lack of regular meetings makes it difficult to establish meaningful connections with coworkers, contributing to a monotonous atmosphere. Regrettably, there are concerns about the leadership, particularly Dave, who exhibits behavior that is less than ideal. His interpersonal skills leave much to be desired, as he tends to treat employees in a disrespectful manner. The absence of empathy and understanding in his interactions is apparent, and he consistently communicates in a condescending manner. It is questionable whether someone with these qualities should be in a leadership role within the company, and it raises concerns about the overall work environment. The training program is notably insufficient, consisting of less than a day spent watching subpar screen recordings where Dave poorly explains the tasks at hand. The transition to actual work on the phones is abrupt, leaving little room for adequate preparation or support. For those considering employment, it is advisable to explore alternative opportunities, as the current work environment may not be conducive to a positive and fulfilling experience.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback about your time at Answer Aide. We are sorry that this position did not work for you, but it sounds like you should consider working in a physical office because remote work isn’t for everyone. We do provide options for you to chat with your co-workers and supervisors. In addition, we do have quarterly meetings and if we need to discuss something; otherwise, you are correct we handle everything through chat. We have multiple employees who have been here for years and love the setup, and this is something we don’t plan on changing. Therefore, if this is something someone needs, our remote position will not be the right fit. Please feel free to reach out to HR and discuss your situation as we would like to hear about the issues you had with Dave and the training so that we can make improvements.

Pros

I have been working with the company since August and I think everyone has been wonderful and have had a great experience so far. I am not sure what's going on with the recent negative reviews as I cannot speak for everyone but Amy and Dave are great. They have always communicated with me effectively and are understanding. There has always been flexibility and they have heard me out and assisted me when needed. As far as training it was short and Samantha was great but this is one of those positions where you just kind of have to dive in and go with the flow as it is an answering service for multiple companies and you are following a script for different clients. You won't be trained for a specific company so you have to be able to adapt and transition with all the calls which can be challenging. Overall the communication and work environment has been very positive and I'm grateful to be a part of this company. Another pro is that my office is a short commute within my home. :D

Cons

Working with different clients comes with its challenges as you don't always know everything about the particular company you are taking a call for and can be limited when it comes to assisting the customers needs. This can lead to upset callers and though a lot of customers are pleasant there are definitely some unpleasant callers.
