Not a Good Fit For Everyone... - Marketing/Brand Management Anheuser-Busch InBev Employee Review

Pros

Beer is a fun and very profitable category! You will have great exposure to Senior Maangement. There is a very thin bench in Marketing and advancement to a Brand Manager-level position can happen rapidly. I would recommend this job for someone wants to live in Saint Louis, passionate about the alcohol beverage industry, and does not have significant family commitments (i.e., young children)

Cons

The primary drawback for me is the lack of a work life balance. It is very rare when I work less than 65-70 hours a week. Any day of the week might start with a 7am meeting and finish with a 7pm meeting. This is not a sustainable lifestyle for more than a few years. Due to the excessive amount of meetings throughout the day, the majority of your actual work will need to be completed outside of business hours and on the weekend. Turnover in Marketing is really high, but this does create opportunity as well. Although the bonus targets are generous, the payout is always a small fraction of the target. New MBAs typically fair fine for the first few years, but those from external companies struggle due to the demands of the company (assume it to be significantly different than their former employer).
