Pros

Fellow colleagues on EA staff were friendly & collaborative. Had this role during 2020 pandemic/WFH transition. Was stable work during that period when many were being laid off.

Cons

Had this role during 2020 pandemic/WFH transition > expectations on tax professionals was to work long hours even during the off season. I quote "they're all at home I don't know why they're not putting in their hours, what else do they have to do?" Cliquey, Toxic Work environment - senior management didn't seem to care for me which would be fine, except I actually got made fun of behind my back. How do I know? I was accidentally sent a Teams DM from a senior staff member that was meant for another staff member outlining my incompetence and making fun of it. EAs who were hourly were not eligible for any end of year bonuses. Most we got was $60 in cash in an envelope from our manager. The fact that I can remember these things almost 3.5 years later says a lot about this specific branch of Andersen. Oh and I left a review of this company right after I left...seems to have mysteriously not been included in the Glassdoor page.

Pros

Free lunch during busy season

Cons

Very cliquey. Very dependent upon each manager and partner. Some partners were great, but others were rude/condescending/only cared about profits and chargeability. Company is growing very fast and rewards those who will work their life away
