Pros
-There's fantastic on the job training on a wide range of tech stacks -Consistent support from the company when up-skilling -Great exposure through working for great companies, mostly in the US -There are literally hundreds of software engineers to network with from 5 African countries -The culture, although in flux at the moment, is still way better than most African companies
Cons
-The company is at the awkward scaling phase, culture is very tumultuous , lots of changes happening. The company's main priority now is to make money. Because of this, decisions made high up in the chain are sometimes shady -It's very easy to get comfortable with the structures in the company if you're not focused on your own growth -There are large pay gaps within similar roles, engineers joining in the fellowship route taking home much less than similarly skilled engineers that didn't join through the fellowship
