Pros

Signing paperwork to work hard prevents protections from injuries. Once your body gets hurt and you're physically incapable of working the same job you've worked. You're pushed out to disabiliy. The management pushes that you get harassed by coworkers. They lie to management, they persist with the harassment. You need a lawyer just to sign papers , their contract just to accept the position. Never sign a document without a LAWYER'S DIRECTION, just to start working for this company. The pay is average for a corporation. Does not require any education. Offers insurance, free travel and they insure even a boyfriend or girlfriend. They don't check for marriage license.

Cons

Work hard, debilitate your own body for the company, they don't let you work under a disabiliy protection they push you out. They lie and file negative files against to use later when they need to. They work you without sufficient manpower so that leaves you susceptible to injuries. They don't pay while you wait for disabiliy to approve you. They pay a check for a little while. The only way to make it thru hardships and emergencies, is to save every penny after you pay the few bills to survive. Nothing more. Nepotism is the way a person moves to a management position. They do not look at education. They have their lawyer's call you and lie that they're with the union.

Pros

Great friends and Travel with plenty to see

Cons

The culture is horrible it’s a very demeaning please. They will fire you for anything. Harassment amongst employees and by management to their employees Is extremely high. I have a MBA degree and I still can not move above the customer service level. I’m a union member and you have to pay union dues to work a non management position. The union Reps work for Amtrak to so there is a conflict of interest. The union is TCU in which they defend the company 100x harder than they do their members. TCU is not organized very well. The pay is fairly well but after union dues in medical and taxes are withdrawn your net income makes it look like you are making at least 15 to 17 an hr. As far as Work culture at Amtrak it is fueled by many rumors and those rumors are more affluent then your resume .
