Pros

Loved my coworkers in the farm, seriously met some of the coolest folks working here.

Cons

I'm not even exaggerating in my headline part. Long work days, little to no breaks for farmers, no regard for mental health, farmers are constantly pressured to push through tough situations with little reprieve or long-term solutions from management. Even when we spoke up about these issues to management, we were given nothing back but lip service. FARMS WERE INFESTED WITH ROACHES!

Of all the good things this startup has going for it, "fun" is the best to me. In my 3 years of working here, there have been few days I consider "work" (That I did not want to be there doing the task that I was doing) While I could make a higher salary elsewhere, I would not have the same quality of life, career outlook, or the impact to the company and ultimately the world. The compensation package goes beyond take home salary including great healthcare, dental, 401k, notary service, and premium lettuce to take home. Our team of diverse experts are happy to share their knowledge base in your problems outside of work. We have an unlimited paid time off policy for adults: take the time you need while while being mindful the job gets done and everyone else can take the time they need. Job descriptions and rigid swimming lanes are mainly for decoration at a startup. This freedom and responsibility doesn't work for everyone's personality, but I won't be going back to a job of counting beans. Being a small and growing company, advancement opportunities are available to fit new needs. When I describe this company and opportunity to my professional network, I often feel the excitement Cartman must have when he found his golden ticket.

Cons

As a startup where every person is important to the team, there are times that we have to work outside normal hours. Senior management shares my viewpoint that this time should be given back when able. This company is not afraid of rapid improvement and change. Change is necessary but can be difficult for some people to respond to. Communicating the why helps with the transition
