While most of the lower-level employees are truly great people, the CEO is one of the worst people I've ever worked with. He is a mediocre talent, but thinks he is a brilliant person surrounded by lessers. He harasses everyone around him endlessly, to the detriment of the company culture and profitability. He has poor self-control with employees, and it results in a lot of abusive language. Turnover at all levels is high.
The board is stocked with the CEO's cronies who are very connected politically (who will never fire him, despite his obviously poor performance - if they were ever going to, they already would have). This DC company has evolved into a "beltway bandit" and so will probably continue to sputter along.
The CEO obsesses over Glassdoor reviews - many bad ones have been taken down somehow - and harangues current employees to write them. The positive reviews are mostly (if not all) fake and were written at his insistence. Do not be deceived.
