Pros
The work/life balance is wonderful. The VP of Life is an outstanding leader and the department seems to really enjoy working for him. The employees are some of the best people I've ever worked with.
Cons
Senior Management seems to be stuck in a time where you could get away with paying employees less than what they're worth. The salaries are no where near what the market demands for many different types of professional positions. The only way to receive recognition or a salary increase is to suck up and isn't measured by your quantity and quality of work. I have never worked harder for any other company and received such little in return. When you do experience a problem, do not go to HR! They are worthless and always try to turn it around on the employee instead of looking into the problem further and working toward an overall solution. Some of the Sr. Management team seems to be exempt from practicing ethics in their day to day jobs. I witnessed a lot of lying, cheating, and fabricating while I was employed. There is no room for this in a financial services organization.
