Pros
Good compensation, benefits, and room for growth. Leadership surprised employees with gifts and fun events in ways that were genuine and heartfelt.
Cons
There was a hidden culture of micromanagement, gossip, and rampant backbiting. If benefits are a priority and you have stamina for enduring office politics, it might be doable. Maintaining a defensive posture is a must, as your decisions and motives will be frequently called into question. This toxicity adds a stressful component to an already fast-paced environment where most tasks have an exceedingly high sense of urgency. Completing work outside of regular hours was normal. It was also common to be called on evenings, weekends, and during PTO and often without getting a courtesy text message first. If you want to be treated as an adult and be implicitly trusted to complete your best work among courteous colleagues, consider looking elsewhere. I resigned after experiencing the deterioration of mental and physical wellbeing for the reasons described above and because of situations where professional boundaries were crossed.
