Pros
-A fun, social atmosphere -- your colleagues are all young, smart, and extremely ambitious -Strong teamwork. There is an evident "we're in this together" mentality, everyone wants to (and is expected to) contribute to the growth and health of the firm -Constantly changing workflow keeps things interesting, and you get fast (if shallow) exposure to a wide range of industries and fields -Extremely transparent office culture -- important decisions are usually made with a lot of collaborative input, and your contribution to the firm always very transparent -Flat office hierarchy -Everyone is invested in your professional growth and you get plenty of guidance and feedback both as you transition in to the office and as you start climbing the ranks -The firm is growing extremely quickly and has high ambitions for the future, so it's an exciting time to be at AlphaSights and witness/contribute to all the changes -Decent perks -- constant office events and socials, free gym memberships, etc.
Cons
-Summer analyst pay is relatively low (for reference, about 60% of what a large investment bank or consulting company would offer, but on par with pay from mid-small companies and considerably higher than what a nonprofit would offer) -In the long term, you aren't able to gain 'expertise' in any one industry or field, which may limit transferability in to other industries -Work can feel repetitive at times and isn't the most intellectually engaging (although, as I mentioned above, the fast work flow does mitigate this to some extent)
