Pros
Honestly I can think of none since there are so many other options in this area for editorial work.
I guess you could say the location of the office was great. It's on the American Tobacco Campus which is a diamond in the rough and a gorgeous establishment. But I can't say that alone would offset the toxicity of the work environment of AMP.
If you are employed here be prepared to spend much of your receiving mixed, unclear directives, being asked to justify your position on a constant basis, and having productivity and efficiency stifled at every turn. If there was ever a workplace illustration of the "damned if you do, damned if you don't", AMP would be it. Many employees left not because the work was unfulfilling but because the office environment was affecting their emotional and physical health.
Cons
Toxic work environment. Management has a track record of placing aggressive, but incompetent and insecure people in supervisory positions. Turnover is ridiculous for such a small office based on employee unhappiness. Communication and directives are never clear and micromanaging impedes productivity. Pay is decent but slightly below average for region for most position, which would be okay except there is very little room for promotion. Lastly, despite being in business for over three decades, management is shocking clueless as to even the basic workings of the publishing industry which, combined with the micromanaging, makes every project much more tedious and confusing than it need be.
