Pros

Love working directly with patients and being able to help with small tasks like directions, parking help that can go a long way for them. Rewarding to assist people in a fast paced environment.

Cons

Terrible, awful, sad culture. HR protects Allina’s interests but ignores serious inter-employee conflicts and abuse of power by management. Many pay issues, several issues with miscalculated hours that had to be resolved. 2-3 weeks of mandatory training that is largely unrelated to the job, just seemingly confirming you are a reliable person. I had to interview 3 times for the position, and on my final interview, they stated they thought this was my first interview, there were no record of any others. Management is largely untrained in the actual day to day tasks of the staff which makes problem solving next to impossible. Management has the ability to block you from moving laterally to another team if they desire. Patients can become violent due to things out of staff’s control such as parking, construction, etc.
