Pros
Really nice coworkers, supervisor, and clients.
Cons
Very low morale, high turnover rate. Employees are spread too thin, workload demands are unreasonable. Caseloads are too high which result in a loss of effectiveness. Unreasonable expectations paired with punitive rigid management, makes for a demoralizing work environment. More emphasis put on billing administrative tasks versus helping kids and families. Working here makes you feel like you're apart of some short of elaborate money-making scam under the guise of charity. Not enough training. You are ask to identify and meet underlying needs without a proper framework/therapeutic resources. Too much unnecessary fluff work. Inadequate supervision. Asked to do things for families you're not trained for. Mounds of paperwork and tedious meetings burdens already stressed families. Staff feel unappreciated, unacknowledged, and alienated. No room for upward mobility. Financial strain in the organization fosters an environment of high pressure for productivity/billing. You really don't do anything helpful in your role. You just bring people together families are already working with. Across the board there is a lack progress/meaningful change with clients. It's just a money-making scheme. If you're looking for something rewarding/challenging working with kids, I'd definitely recommend looking for something more legit. Save yourself the agony. Life's too short.
