Pros

Fair pay compared to others in the industry

Cons

Poor upper management. They were so unorganized with policies and procedures. They would tell us one thing, we’d do it that way, and then they would get mad because we were doing it wrong. When we asked to see where the policy chance was presented, they usually came up with nothing. This is just one of many examples of their unorganized chaotic environment. There were so many limited resources to where you couldn’t do the job. Budgets were restricted while rent increased for residents by hundreds of dollars in a year. There were shady dealings with the renovation company. The projects cost significantly higher than what the product ended up being (some being as estimated double in actual cost; profits included in the figuring). There was constant understaffing. They forced managers to take on additional properties that seriously needed more people. All to save money, not caring if it would excessively overload that person and reduce the quality of work, thus increasing resident dissatisfaction. They cut corners everywhere possible, overworked employees, and ultimately began running each property into the ground. Do not work here if you care about your happiness, being a valued employee, or about doing a good job.

Pros

Allegiant-Carter is a company that genuinely invests in its people and culture. There’s a strong emphasis on relationships, and leadership is approachable and engaged across all levels of the organization. If you’re someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, you’ll find a lot of support here. There are real opportunities to grow your career, especially if you take initiative. The company encourages development, and there’s a clear effort to create structure around training, career paths, and recognition programs. The team celebrates wins, supports each other through challenges, and creates an environment where you feel like you’re part of something bigger than just your role. Another standout is the culture—there’s energy, pride, and a sense of ownership across the portfolio. When teams are aligned, it’s a really fun and motivating place to be.

Cons

Like many growing organizations, consistency can vary across regions and teams. Processes and training approaches haven’t always been fully standardized, which can create some confusion—especially for new hires navigating onboarding or expectations. Because of the fast-paced nature of the business, there can be periods where workload feels heavy, particularly during peak seasons or when supporting multiple initiatives.
