Pros
I came to Vision Critical straight out of University. It was a great place to develop my research skills. I understand that the company is now moving away from research services and focusing more on developing their licensed platform. That's one of the reasons why I decided to leave. That said, the benefits are decent for a mid-sized company. But the best part about Vision Critical were the people. The HR team did a great job of hiring very positive, smart, and friendly people. I know many people who are still at the company for the same reason.
Cons
I can't speak for the company now, but when I was there a few years ago - if you weren't a programmer or software engineer or in senior leadership, you were likely to make a salary that is below industry standard. Things may have changed since then.
