Technology hasn’t adopted to current standards

Staff are paid by company, office supplied by company, good brand name, excellent suite of products, Alfa pays claims very well. The independent agent option is the best thing they have going for them.

Micromanagement by sales leaders is the norm. Systems are antiquated and low-tech. While the company pays the office staff, that also means the agent doesn't have direct supervision of them and they don't have to get behind the agent's initiatives. Compensation is commensurate with being an employee, but an agent can make a lot more on their own. Underwriting is slow and sometimes unreasonable.
