Pros

Everyone at this company continually strives to do their best in their role and find ways to improve their work. Most people are very friendly and are happy to answer questions or provide updates. It's very easy to feel welcomed and engaged here.

Cons

It's necessary for people to be happy to answer questions because the teams are pretty siloed and there are often communication gaps in people's workflows.

Pros

The company is primarily HVAC design/build. With an in-house staff of mechanical and electrical engineers, they are able to provide design and installation that covers the fields of mechanical, electrical, and controls. Air Systems is owned by a larger corporation, Comfort Systems USA, which adds the benefit of stability to employees and customers, and a large pool of knowledge across the many HVAC companies they own. Because ASEI is in the business of heating and ventilation installation, it also houses a service department for maintenance and repairs. Some of the areas best service technicians are employed at Air Systems. There is a strong ethic to train and cross-train employees and continue upgrading that education to stay up on new technology and better work practices.

Cons

Air Systems has terrible management and has for many years; using methods that should have been buried with "The One Minute Manager" and "Who Moved my Cheese". Currently the engineering manager is not able to perform due diligence as he lacks the schooling, training, and licensing to do the job. Therefore many of his technical responsibilities are farmed out to other qualified individuals within the company. This causes problems with quality control that must often be fixed in the field by the installation crews. Furthermore, each department is plagued with managers who are not able to make timely decisions and rarely make correct decisions when all is said and done. This is not necessarily due to the managers themselves, but a lack of experience and knowledge by the president of the company who spends most of her time studying minutia in lieu of developing her management team and looking at bigger-picture developments. She started as part of the office staff, tending to day-to-day responsibilities of office processes and catering to the previous owner/president. When the business sold to CSUSA, she was appointed president as a nod to her time employed at Air Systems and because of the close friendship she had with the founder and ex-president. She has managed to remain in the position in spite of her lack of training and confidence. The hope is that she will eventually rise to the position and begin directing the company into a forward trot. Currently, operations and clientele are stumbling along inefficiently and ineffectively.
