Pros

The Hewlett Packard philosophy of work/life balance, being employee-centric and testing in quality at every Process step no longer applies.

Cons

Through constant splits of the company into smaller entities, this company has lost it's focus and drive and abandoned it's core principles. It is not the technology company it once was. It is not the employee-centric company of the last half century. Upper management has cut back salaries, benefits and opportunities. Sacrificed quality and employee satisfaction to drive lesser products to market that no longer have the highest industry standards of quality and excellence. The employees are overworked and under compensated. Management does not reward the best and brightest, but those who smile and don't complain.

Pros

Great products that help scientific researchers

Cons

The enterprise comms dept is awful. A toxic environment marked by instability and burnout. Long‑time employees are pushed out, new hires leave, and the culture is defined by fear rather than collaboration. The core issue is the leadership. Limited enterprise‑level experience and a lack of emotional intelligence have created a culture of micro-managing, reactive decisions, and psychological insecurity. Instead of providing clarity and strategic leadership, the leader fuels confusion, distrust, and exhaustion. The result is a dysfunctional department where morale is low, workloads are unsustainable, and employees feel unsafe speaking up.
