Pros

Free tea and coffee, no weekend or bank holiday working. Made some good friends

Cons

Poor leadership, talked down to by upper management. Poor products, new finance system put in place which wasnt fit for use resulting in stressed staff who didnt know how to use system, managers having to write process guides for system they didnt know. Upper management expecting miracles and same level of service which was not possible with system provided. Upper management having cliques and treating staff they didnt like poorly and very different. Working from home during lockdown we were told on weekly manager calls that we would not have to cover work for those furloughed but they expected that and more from you and god forbid you didn't complete things on time. Announcing the redundancies and closure of Taunton office was a big kick in the teeth for the amount of hard work we had put in. However now that ive left the company i realise how toxic it was and no staff member should feel like that about their workplace. Previous finance manager was poor toxic and feared by staff old and new due to the spiteful ways she spoke to staff. Salary was min wage even for having finance knowledge and experience staff could earn the same anywhere else for less experience

Thankyou for taking the time to share your feedback. Without a doubt 2020 has been a difficult year. No-one could have envisaged the impact the pandemic would have on the travel & events industry. The pandemic has meant a significant reduction in trading for 2020 for Capita Travel and Events, along with the rest of our industry. As a result, we have had to make some difficult decisions, which has sadly meant redundancies and a reduction in our property footprint. We appreciate it has been a difficult time for everyone involved and we have supported our people as much as possible, taking advantage of all the options presented to us from redeployment to government retention schemes, our teams are important to us and our priority has been ongoing engagement, listening forums and regular updates on the situation. As this has been an unusual year and as we have moved to work remotely some of our usual feedback channels may not have been utilised as often as we would have liked. We always encourage people to live our values and provide opportunity through the employee lifecycle for honest feedback, with an open-door policy. It is always a shame to receive feedback where we are not able to respond directly. If you wish to discuss any of your feedback directly, we would welcome you to get in touch.
