Pros
Everyone is smart, motivated and fun. Management doesn’t micromanage and allows you to get on with your work. You get to run your own schedule and can travel extensively for work. There are good opportunities to build a book of clients. Unlike other companies you get hands on experience with contract / price negotiations, risk, compliance and financial products. You really act more as a consultant and can have a tangible impact in helping your clients grow.
Cons
The salaries are below market and your bonus is tied to your salary and there are no points for bringing in any additional revenue above the minimum requirement to achieve your bonus. Also you don’t get any equity just phantom shares. Moreover, we have a flat structure. So if you come in as an Account Manager you can only become a Team Leader (hard to achieve). Which means there is no Senior Account Manager role, so you can work for years without progression.
