Pros
Most of the employees are friendly.
The atmosphere is pretty laid back. As a wholesaler, you deal mainly with contractors and their employees, and are encouraged to buddy up with them. As a result certain language and behaviors are permissible that most certainly would not be allowed at places such as Home Depot or Lowes. Of course women probably wouldn't find such an environment too enjoyable.
Getting time off is usually not too hard, even beyond your PTO.
Cons
Virtually no room for advancement.
They implemented regressive salary caps for each position, thus guaranteeing anyone who's been there for a year or more has little opportunity for salary growth.
No commissions for inside sales people.
Very little appreciation shown to employees from management.
The owner spends half the year vacationing around the world, yet when he is actually there is a serious micro-manager who constantly complains about money.
