Pros
Not really any for Addus/Serenity as a company, but the support staff and case managers try their hardest under difficult circumstances.
Cons
-Employees are given unrealistic case loads. Case managers often carry 18 - 22 patients. The standard is 12 - 14. Admission nurses are expected to spend no more than 3-4 hours doing an admission. The standard is 4-5. -In an effort to increase profit patient care is suffering. Pain, wound care, falls etc not managed as they should be. -It is almost impossible to catch up with the manager making it difficult to check in and grow as a professional. -Salaried rather than hourly so no consequences to the company for overworking staff and they will overwork you. -No positions offered for less than full time. If you don't want 50 - 60 hours/week the only other option is to be PRN and then you are not allowed to work more than 24 hours. -Can be difficult to get time off d/t staffing constraints. -Always understaffed. -The culture in the office is unfriendly. No team building. It is difficult to find support when out in the field and a question arises. The manager is very poor at answering texts. -They will lie to you about the amount of hours you will work, and no matter what the recruiter tells you, you do not get paid for OT. -You will not be allowed to comp your salaried OT hours when you have an appointment. You will be required to use your PTO.
