Pros

I'm a recent hire with many years of experience in the plastics industry, and I continue to be impressed with the Addivant direction and market presence. As a spin-off from Chemtura, Addivant has finished its first year of what will likely be a 2 year process to get internal systems re-aligned with a new corporate strategy. The company has lofty goals, but is building a commercial and manufacturing structure to meet those goals - to remain a safe and positive place to work, to be fully focused on supporting our customers and to leverage our innovation portfolio to drive long term success.

Cons

As a relatively small company, there are no shortage of projects, initiatives, improvement teams, etc. If you are someone who is motivated by getting to wear multiple hats, work with people across the company and the world, and support the company's growth - this is the place. However, this can also mean long hours and early morning meetings.

Pros

I've never worked with a stronger team. Everyone that I met at Addivant was the best at their job. Addivant didn't mess around when hiring. They wanted the best. They expect accountability which is great from my standpoint. Addivant's compensation was top notch

Cons

Even with people being the best at their roles, it sometimes wasn't enough and they were let go within a year of hiring in. Imagine being the best at what you do, and it still not being enough. I was fine with this, but it's not for everyone

Pros

There is only one plus to working fid this company... Using it as a springboard to get a better job.

Cons

Penalize you for bad weather. Can't be one minute late no matter the reason. Terrible management. This is truly a place where careers come to die. The best engineer at the plant fled to another job that paid infinitely more money. He was the reason that the plant continued to operate. I made many good friends on the hourly side of the scale. Salary side is definitely lacking though. The salary thrive on mentally beating down what they feel are their subordinates. Quit looking down on them and work with them, the results would startle you. The only thing the company uses the contract for is to prove themselves right. When you are in the right then all the sudden the contract gets interpreted to their benefit. They bring you in at a low rate and then let you wallow there with no raises until you get lucky enough to bid into production. There is no concept of teamwork. The only concept is cut your buddies throat so you can get ahead.
