Pros
AdKarma positives can be attributed to its dedicated management team who do truly care about the success of individual employees. Along those lines, employees enjoy a strong sense of autonomy in their roles and can clearly see how their contributions play into the success of their teams and the company as a whole.
Speaking as a former employee who worked across multiple roles and was promoted to oversee my own team, I can personally speak to AdKarma’s flexibility and willingness to see through on each employee’s unique talents and potential. Effort and ownership of one’s work is not overlooked; it is acknowledged, praised, and rewarded.
In short, the ad industry entails its own set of risks in terms of extremely high competition, changes in technology and best practices, etc., which might make careers in this field more volatile than others, but AdKarma strives to create an upbeat and enduring culture wherein success is achievable by all employees.
Overall, I’d say AdKarma was a great first professional experience and jumpstart to my career. The company has room to grow and seems to be taking the necessary actions to expand that potential.
Cons
AdKarma negatives stem from its pains associated with early rapid growth, subsequent acquisition and widespread industry consolidation concerning its core business. These issues contribute to a sense of urgency in meeting goals which oftentimes seem unrealistic and beg the question of job security when not met. Top level management tries commendably to communicate the bigger picture, but product proliferation, serial acquisitions, and a questionable allocation of resources can at times obscure a sense of unified direction.
