Pros

When I first joined Acrisure, the brokerage was still known by it's original name Pro Insurance (subsequently ProCo). There are some extremely knowledgeable, hard working individuals that are still there. The company serviced their clients benefits needs very well: they routinely went "above and beyond" which was their mantra. The AM's formed strong bonds with their client groups, and were encouraged to do so. To make up for the stress of Q4, they gave employees every other Friday off (half day) from Memorial Day through Labor Day. That was the best and most appreciated perk by the staff, and an effective retention tool. They also typically let the staff go home early (2 or 3 PM) on the Friday before a 3 day weekend to avoid holiday traffic. I don't know if this practice is still in effect, but it was something the staff truly appreciated.

Cons

The work environment was plagued with favoritism, cliques and a toxic "keep your head down and your mouth shut" mindset. The people who kept silent and "sucked up" were promoted and admired by management, even if they did not work as hard or were as well versed and experienced as their peers. Sadly, it was "what you say not what you do" that counted with management. Your clients may have loved you but if you're not one of the favorites - it won't matter. You will stagnate. Bringing up concerns was interpreted as "being negative" and speaking up was swiftly discouraged and/or punished. There were several employees who were besties outside of work who were cliquey and rude to new hires.

Pros

Solid Base Pay, PPO Health Insurance available, PTO. Micromanagement minimal once you become a producer. Thankful for the opportunity they gave me as a younger exec.

Cons

Do you like cleaning up the messes of colleagues who are up to six months behind on their work (or even do their job at all?) Do you average a response time of anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to answer client emails and phone calls? How about seeing 4 colleagues go through the turnover mill in under a year’s timeframe? Do you like sales environments where you’re neck and neck against either outside hires, friends or relatives of the other producers? Do you love being forced to learn new workflows every four months, that will be obsolete when they restructure once again in the next four? Look no further you have found your corporate drone work paradise. As for us normal self-respecting people with a tad of a soul, STAY AWAY. This company has me considering leaving the industry altogether. Don’t want to discredit those who’ve had a decent experience here this has just been mine. All love at the EOD…
