There's a lot of them. Don't let them scam you into joining. Favoritism is rampant, you can break any rules you want if you're someone's favorite. If you get on someone's bad side, and you can get fired for no reason. The profit sharing is only really for people who've been around since before COVID. It's in no way comparable to a real bonus (Think less than $100). The "holidays" have to be earned so if you join right before a holiday, you'll have to take it unpaid. The director of HR is like the owner's family and she throws around her weight to do whatever she wants. Walks around barefoot which is super weird and uncomfortable but nobody can say anything to her. Her entire group is her friends and their family. They can do anything they want: denying expense reports, letting their dogs run wild, screaming and yelling at people at the drop of a hat, etc. They can create or change any policies or rules they want and nobody can do anything about it. There's no input from the owner or managers. HR can even decide to fire someone and not let their managers know until it's already in process. Your manager can't / won't protect you. Owner clearly doesn't care since this isn't the first review saying they've been literally screamed at by HR, but it's still a recurring problem and the lady is still here. Everyone knows to stay away from HR cause the rules and policies they give depends on their mood. Get on the wrong side of HR and they'll just start harassing you like screaming at you (for no reason like asking for help with mail), giving you problems over expense reports, or escalating random "complaints" to your managers to create a record so they can fire you. It's an embarrassment to have anyone new join and part of their onboarding talk be "avoid HR like the plague. Even more than at other Companies. Just hide from them." Or explaining why some random lady is walking around barefoot and everyone seems to be scared of her and that if she ever calls for you, just pack your bags. There is no PIP or warnings given.
