Pros
You'll learn a lot about bookkeeping and tax filing for small business owners. Co-workers and supervisor are nice. You face client directly so it really practices your communication, organization, and efficiency. Good place to start as a first job, easy to jump to other actual accounting firms or even industry after 1-2 years.
Cons
Busy since there is no typical low season as you always have bookkeeping and HST every single month to do. Can be very stressful at times if you are not efficient or being accuracy on your job. Work-life balance is not there and most of the time the workplace is lacking of staffs. No proper organizational structure or control, and lack of respect from top management. Size-wise pretty much no growth opportunity. Top management can come up with lots of new ideas that just either doesn't work because it is never followed through properly or simply it just increases your work load...
