Pros

Solid company with a strong brand. Benefits when working out of town.

Cons

The work often is a lot and you can never plan life ahead, but its consulting and you should know it beforehand. The real problem at Accenture is that there is a lot of bureaucracy and your life is completely in the hands of your boss (Senior Manager). It’s more like you work for him than for the company, so situations can vary a lot. There is also a lot of politics going on inside, so to get staffed on particular projects or hope in a promotion, you need a strong sponsor, which should be you Senior Manager, that is hopefully respected inside and sells a lot of projects, if not you may have to wait easily even 4-5 years for a promotion (which should be after 2 years but never actually happens). Last but not least, the pay (at least for analysts in Italy) is the lowest in consulting!

Pros

There are a lot of pros working for Accenutre. They have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

Cons

This is not an opportunity for those that do not want to work. At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines. It is a challenge that I enjoy but many might find it stressful.
