Pros

This is a work-from-home position that you can do anywhere with a decent set-up, so I have been finding it great for flexibility. When a new student signs up, the company broadcasts it to teachers that might be a good fit with information about their requested times for the class. This means that you can favor certain hours in your timetable, and you have some choice in which clients you take. In my experience, the company offers a lot of support to teachers. I am able to contact them about any issues easily, and I have recieved responses quickly. Company policies and advice for teachers are clear, reasonable, and easy to locate. The company has prepared materials that you can teach off of and suppliment as you'd like, so once you are familiar with the basics there is not much prep time needed. You work with the same clients regularly, and you get to know them. I typically enjoy working here, and I have met a lot of interesting people!

Cons

You need to have the right type of accent personally to be hired. The pay is a little low to start, but there are regular raises if you stick with it. ($16 per hour plus $1 higher after every 500 teaching hours). It can take a while to fill your schedule, so it's best as supplimentary income for at least a while. The timing on your schedule can be a little unpredictable, since clients will join, leave, or cancel and reschedule classes frequently. The flexibility can be good for you as well though - if something comes up for me on a particular day, I am generally able to work something out with the clients directly to reschedule.

Pros

Very professional company with lots of great material and wonderful support. They help remote workers feel more connected with coaches happy hours and a TEAMS community group. I’ve also received two raises within 3 years.

Cons

Only wish the starting hourly rate was higher.

Pros

I thoroughly enjoy my work with Accent Advisor. The company is great—they’re supportive and transparent in all dealings; they provide excellent materials; and, perhaps most importantly, they trust coaches to do their jobs without interference or micromanagement. You also have the freedom to control your schedule—you don’t need permission to reschedule classes, nor are you penalized for doing so. Accent Advisor hires professionals, and coaches are given the support—and space—needed to be able to assist clients in the most effective way possible. In my experience, it’s rare to find a company in this space that treats its teachers/coaches with such respect. In addition, this may be remote work, but you never feel alone. With a coach chat room, regular Zoom meetups, and accessible management who always respond to any comments, suggestions, or inquiries, Accent Advisor does a great job of making sure everyone feels like they are part of a team.

Cons

I haven’t encountered any negatives with Accent Advisor. Overall, it’s been a very positive experience.
