Great people at the bottom. I think calling out management on here often causes them to act defensive when they read these things.
Cons
Product management has essentially left en masse since the mass layoffs of December. The most experienced member in the AML department hasn't been there for more than a year (which is not a slight against them). Top level execs just aren't doing enough to retain the good people. Churning management. You take months out to build a good relationship with your manager, and then they're laid off within the first year of them being at the company. This layoff is often used as a scapegoat as to "Why the department has done bad over the last year", when in reality there are other reasons for it. Operations was in a constant state of chaos. At one point 3 or 4 of the most experienced members all left the company within a few weeks of each other, thus leaving very inexperienced members to pick up their work loads. I don't know if they were appropriately compensated for this or not. R&D is not investing in new technologies and incorporating the latest technology trends into their products. The sole focus is on recreating our legacy products. These legacy products were designed 20 years ago, I feel there's got to be ways we can improve the flow, but that simply is not the focus here at Abrigo. It is remake and ship. At one point a team within R&D made a mistake on a product, and management essentially gas lighted them in to coming in unpaid on the weekends to fix the problem. Hey Abrigo, pay the extra money up front to catch these problems, instead of using unpaid labor. Certain management was often rude. Executives are unapproachable. I'd say what Twitter is to the president, Glassdoor comments are to the CEO. They're never a good look. They have a "unlimited time off" policy, but this feels more as a ploy to draw in good people, than it is for treating people well. You will get looks by management and your team members if you actually try to use your time off. I believe my career path was defined 4 or 5 different ways in a year and a half. How unstable this is, often makes it hard and confusing to understand "what I have to do to move up to the next step in my career?". It often feels very fake talking to people outside your department, you try forming conversation, but it just turns in to talking about the weather or the latest fire they are trying to put out. I suppose this is an industry wide problem in tech, but I can't see what Abrigo is doing to try and fix it. At this point, I want this company to be sold, so that the good friends I still have there can be relieved.
