Pros

You get to work with some really smart and talented people. The Wind Energy Sector never has a dull moment. If you care about the environment, this is the place to be. Wellness benefits, Composting, Free coffee, access to a gym, bike parking, HAPPY HOUR etc.

Cons

Shaky industry. Heavily reliant on a broken government for tax subsidies. A lot Staff turnover either from being laid off or quitting due to how unstable the wind industry is. Work-life Balance is impossible to achieve for non-support staff. No internal career growth.

Pros

AWEA is a great place to intern since they allow you to grow as a professional in so many ways. You'll sit in on phone calls, be tasked to manage projects, will collaborate with your colleagues, and have freedom to take initiatives on anything you want. You'll also engage with industry and government professionals and have the opportunity to connect with them.

Cons

You are paid with stipends so the pay is not as competitive with other paid internships.

Pros

The organization had great, team-oriented culture and it's been hard to find that in other organizations.

Cons

Unfortunately, I don't think major conflicts were tackled head on. In the spirit of not rocking the boat, this allowed issues to linger on longer than necessary at times.
