Pros

The dress code is very casual. Shorts, flip flops, ect. There is a snack cube (read cons). There is always free average coffee. There is a flexible work schedule for developers thanks to the VP of Engineering (read cons).

Cons

First let’s address that Pro I mentioned. The snack cube was implemented and then quietly taken away. There was no announcement as to why. It just stopped being replenished. We weren’t told if the company was in some sort of financial trouble or if it was simply deemed unnecessary. Then about 5 months later it miraculously reappeared. Not a crazy uncertainty but for a company named Advance TRANSPARENT Solutions there seems to be a reoccurring theme around a lack of transparency. As for the flexible work schedule, that is true. But if specific people suspect you are not putting in your time you had better be prepared to answer for you schedule. Don’t be surprised if they don’t believe you worked from home. The upper management feels disconnected from the rest of the employees. It’s called the 'Leadership Team' but includes a third of the company. Which makes it feel like a very 'them' vs 'us'. There was a promise of performance based incentives. And while one was given, it was only given to the developers, and the practice was taken away shortly after that. There has been no Christmas bonus or cost of living adjustments for the past few years. The worst part was that none of it was ever discussed with the employees. It was casually forgotten and never talked about again. When I pushed for more answers from Human Resources I was asked ‘Don’t you have anything better to do? ‘. When it comes to uncertainty about my financial future I would think ‘No, I don’t have anything better to do than look out for the security of my family and myself’. There is no documented method of mentorship or career growth. The employee handbook is from 2013 and was unavailable in an electronic version until it was recently uploaded as pictures of the physical copy by an employee to an internal Confluence page. There is no 401k, only 80 hours of PTO (includes sick time). The company has been around for 5+ years and only recently got Health Care so I would not hold my breath for the phrase ‘We are considering getting that shortly’. It feels like there is considerably more talk than action. On numerous occasions the future ATS is used to describe a magical land where we get to dive into our pool of money like Scrooge McDuck (Duck Tales) when I have not heard of any reoccurring revenue to date. It feels like management will tell clients ‘yes we can’ when everyone else says ‘we absolutely cannot’. Then it’s up to everyone else to crank it up a notch to get it done under pressure and likely incorrectly. You can imagine how the clients interpret the results. Over the last 12 months I have seen just as many people walk out the door as in the door. Knowing what I do now, I understand how they likely felt. This is just one person’s opinion of course, but I suspect if you read all the reviews a lot of people feel the same way.

Pros

I try to get the other reviews here but I don't understand some of them. This is a fun company to work at. Management values employees and families right up there with the work that we do. We are revolutionizing the industry with what we are creating and in that process there will be hurt people. There will also be people that don't agree with methods, technologies, or a myriad of other things, but that's the same at every company out there. Employees question things, discussion ensues, changes are/are not made depending, and that is kind of how things improve. The new location downtown, once fully renovated, will be an amazing showcase of what a great Tech Company in Omaha can look like.

Cons

Staffing is short, but that is by design, and makes it not only challenging but fun.
