Pros
I enjoyed working with my students and it was nice to have them given to me (rather than seek them out)
Cons
- Significantly lower compensation than other tutoring companies in the area
- Often times it got very crowded in the small Madison park office and it was difficult to try and teach with a dozen other tutors teaching at the same time
-The Administration was very pushy in regards to telling me to tell students they needed more tutoring hours, it put me in a very uncomfortable situation with parents.
- The administration is not at all supportive of the tutors and will always side with the parents, for example I had a parent cancel within 24 hours, I was asked by the admin if I could offer a makeup session, which I did. It turned out the time did not work for the parent, but since I had offered a makeup session I was not compensated for the initial cancelled session. I felt like I had to "fight" for my rightful compensation many times during my employment there. The person in charge of scheduling is very difficult to deal with as well.
-There was a very negative vibe set by the admin, I work for a different company now that is so supportive, it only makes me realize how bad of an environment atac tutoring was.
