Thank you for sharing your opinion. We appreciate your effort to help foster a more informed workforce. We’ll attempt to address each of your comments.
In regards to the driving training that you felt was worthless that school is, in fact, one of the best EP driving schools in the country. Many of your colleagues that attended the training loved it and found it to be very valuable. In addition, you would have had to pay thousands of dollars to attend if you went on your own, but we covered it and paid you for your time there.
Turnover throughout our company of more than 600 people (at the time of this post) is less than 10%, which is by far better than any other company in this industry. Unfortunately, sometimes we have to let people go, which is never a fun thing to do, but when we strive to do the best, be the best, and expect the highest standards this has to happen at times. In actuality, if you only calculate people leaving on their own volition it’s even lower than 10%.
We’re sorry you felt like there were no advancement opportunities in AS. Many others that have been with the company over many years feel differently. Some even realize the key to getting those opportunities is performing well during training, helping others, staying out of gossip, contributing new ideas, and working hard help management continue to keep AS Solution at the forefront of this industry. We want people that are on board and want to help. We certainly know we aren’t a perfect company, but one thing that makes us a great company is that we strive to be. It’s a bummer that you didn’t see your position with our company as real job, but perhaps that casts light on why you had some challenges. We pay much higher than other companies in EP and are proud of that fact to include our great medical benefits package. In reality, executive protection isn’t a fit for everyone. It’s a challenging career.
Our ideas come from everyone within our organization. Whether they just happen to have worked at GDBA or not. GDBA is in fact a leader in this industry (whether you like that or not) and many, many people have worked at the company at some point in their careers. Out of 600 people we probably have 15 that have worked at GDBA before which is about only 2.5% of our company. In order to ensure that we can provide the best service possible for our clients, we actively recruit from a diverse and eclectic pool of candidates. While former law enforcement and military personnel make up a significant portion of our employees, we also seek individuals with different backgrounds and unique, yet applicable skillsets. We also have many people with backgrounds from college, security, and EP, etc. We certainly don’t discriminate based on where someone worked at one point in their career and value a mixture of backgrounds.
As a matter of fact, we do listen to advice and feedback which is why we took the time to respond to your post. We also have developed a Diversity & Inclusion training course that our employees take. We’re creating more courses and training for our employees around the globe and sample many ideas from them because we value their opinions. We even value your opinion even though we disagree with many aspects of it.
We really wish you the best in all your future endeavors. It seems like you are much happier in your new position and that’s such a positive thing to go from doing something you’re unhappy with to doing something you really enjoy.
If you would like to continue this discussion, we welcome the opportunity to do so.
