I was hired with an average base and was told I would eventually have a full desk pulling in a lot of money. That never happened and it was an incredibly boring job and one in which I basically trained myself. No new accounts coming down the pipeline, some big accounts were lost, very sub-par technology, a layoff in May and a restructuring meeting in September. I knew the writing was on the wall for me so I requested to be released from my non-compete at that time and then again when I was laid off in November, and they would not release me from it. Overall I learned a lot about myself and I have landed exactly where I need to be in my career,
