Cons
- STUBS REWARD CARD. AMC pushes you to sell stubs rewards cards ($12) and it is a pain to deal with if you work concessions since the guests already had to deal with being offered the Stubs card at the box office when they purchased their tickets. You could be wrote up if you do not meet a certain quota, or at least repeatedly threatened to be wrote up which is also a pain to deal with. - AMC is in the entertainment industry so you will not get paid overtime if you work over 40 hours. - Film Crew is a fancy name, but the starting pay is still minimum wage. And you are also a sells man since you must sell the STUBS Reward card. - The majority of employees are under 20, most still in high school. (At least at my location) So if you are over 30 then you will need a higher level of patience to deal with the younger, sometimes inexperienced, talkative employees. - High turnover rate. - NO lunches. On slow days maybe a 15 minute break but on busy days if you work in concession at a register, bathroom breaks may be hard to come by. And you can forget about a break to eat if it's busy. - Cover your Shift. If you can't make it in then you are responsible for finding someone to work for you, not management, regardless of how important it is for you to miss work. - Managers and supervisors tend to be young and take advantage of the younger employees since they do not have a lot of work experience. - You can move up, but the added responsibility is not even worth 50 cents to a dollar raise since 40 hours is hard to come by for everyone and your work load increases. - The above Cons are not worth $7.25 an hour, and did I mention that selling the Stubs card is a big negative about the job.
