Pros
None. Absolutely none. The best part of the company was leaving after 1 week of hell working there.
Cons
I joined Monday and left Friday afternoon. Where do I even start. Here’s a list of cons you can use for a review to highlight your experience with the company. I had no job to fall back on but I had to leave since it was literally causing mental distress I never heard or met anyone in my entire employment and was left completely in the dark. I would rather not have a job. I don’t even think I will be paid for my time there. The layout of Alten is you are treated as a pawn and moved around at will to fit the business with no regard for wellbeing. Ironic how a well being induction was scheduled for week 2 where I already quit in week 1 since it is that bad. It is as if they already know that employees will require mental support as the model is so unprofessional: 1. Poor Communication: There was little to no proactive communication from management, leaving me in the dark and causing significant stress. I only received updates when I initiated contact. 2. Misleading Job Expectations: The job description and the actual role were completely different. I was promised work on high-profile projects like Rolls-Royce and JLR, but these were either unavailable or required much more experience than I was led to believe. 3. Unrealistic Commute: The company misrepresented the commute time to client sites. Despite voicing concerns, I was given inaccurate information, making the travel unsustainable for my situation. 4. Misalignment of Projects: I was placed on projects that didn’t match my expertise or interests. Instead of the FEA engineering work I was hired for, I was put on unrelated tasks, including AI software, which wasn’t aligned with my skills. 5. Treated as a Resource, Not a Professional: The company treats employees as metrics, constantly shuffling them to any available project to avoid financial loss, without considering personal or professional development. 6. Pay and Experience Mismatch: Despite offering entry-level salaries, the company expects employees to perform tasks requiring 5+ years of experience. The pay structure does not reflect the responsibilities assigned. 7. Negative Impact on Mental Health: The combination of lack of communication, misleading job expectations, and poor management significantly affected my mental well-being.
