Don't apply for ACA positions - Material Handler AFL Employee Review

Pros

Pays well but at the cost of no work life balance, so you don't really even get a chance to spend that money.

Cons

ACA side of AFL is a nightmare. Incompetent management, often out of parts needed, necessary tools often broken, training is done by unqualified coworkers so you have to teach yourself a lot, horribly dirty and unorganized work environment, no communication between shifts, advancement practically nonexistent. I could go on. Covid protocols are a joke too. If all that doesn't deter you, prepare to work mandatory overtime they won't tell you about in your interview every single week. 48 to 56 hours a week is the norm and required. They are also fabricating company reviews to boost ratings on job websites, so be wary of 5 star reviews with no job specifics. Is that the kind of company you wish to work for?

Pros

Great resources available for Self-Development Self-Development and career progression strongly encouraged and supported Management is approachable and open to feedback EXCELLENT health benefits/EAP

Cons

Long commute for me, but worth it Quickly changing industry, so AFL makes changes to stay up on current customer demands - not a negative con, just something to keep up with
