Pros

Benefits are at least comparable to other companies.

Cons

Top heavy management that has no clue how the actual work is done, and makes decisions without any knowledge, thought or consideration as to the implementation of their cumbersome policies. Executive and division management are totally incompetent - some have had absolutely no prior management experience and have no idea how to manage or grow the business. The matrix management structure is a dismal failure. Opportunities are lost because numerous people are involved in the decision process, yet none will take responsibility for making a decision to pursue the work. The work environment is toxic and morale is the lowest I've ever experienced. The working employees are constantly laid off, yet multiple Executives are hired each month. Immediately after the last layoff, we received one of the numerous corporate e-mails describing how the company values employees. Obviously, AECOM's management doesn't credit its employees with intelligence if they honestly think anyone believes any of their self-serving propaganda. This company is corporate America at its worst, and has taken advantage of the poor economy to treat employees as if they are worse than nothing and expendable at any time. AECOM's philosophy is Management By Fear.

Pros

Decent company, good stock plan, good people who want to see you grow

Cons

Very remote management makes things hard, very little team work is locally siloed so its hard for managers to understand the boots on the ground view. Managers are great people but spread very thin, sometimes they accept work before having staff for it(classic consulting move)
